What is Pilates

Think core strength, flexibility and mind-body awareness. If that sounds like your kind of thing, let us introduce you to Pilates, a form of exercise that focuses on a strong, balanced body. Pilates builds your strength organically – using exercises derived from the ways we naturally move. Regardless of your fitness level, Pilates is always challenging. That’s because it puts specific emphasis on the body’s core. If you want to build a healthy body from inside out, you’re in the right place.

New to Pilates – come a little early if you want … if you’re a first-timer, come in a few minutes early to fill out some paperwork and get to know the studio.

No shoes, no problem. Pilates is not for the foot-phobic. We exercise barefoot, so leave your shoes and socks with your belongings. That said, we welcome tread socks if you prefer. As for the rest of your attire, think stretchy and fitted. A good pair of yoga pants or leggings with Lycra are perfect for Pilates. Choose clothing that is comfortable and exercise-friendly. Keep your tops fitted or semi-fitted so your instructors can keep an eye on your form and alignment.

Be talkative. Your instructor is there to make sure you get the most out of your Pilates session, so feel free to chat her up. Tell your instructor about any medical conditions, injuries, pregnancies or other issues that could limit your ability to exercise. This will help your instructor modify movements appropriately for you.

Disconnect. The beauty of our studio is that it allows you to exercise and rehabilitate in a calm, tranquil environment.

Tanya Flock

Tanya was born in Massachusetts but lived most of her adult life on a ranch in Adair, Oklahoma. She loves being in the city since moving to Tulsa just a couple of years ago with her husband and three children. Tanya has a passion for Pilates and is committed to offering her clients the ultimate Pilates experience.

Dyan Gillean

Dyan was born in Tulsa and lives in Broken Arrow. Tanya actually got Dyan into Pilates and together they’ve grown to love it with an obsession. She is excited about sharing her passion for Pilates with her clients and offering them something unique to the Tulsa area.
